It would depend of the “hit.” I don’t support spanking children, but if I had been spanked, I would have taken it until I was old enough to verbalize my feelings about it. If it was anything worse or different from that (a slap to the face, during a fight, aggressive, etc.) I would have told someone, like a trusted teacher. Child abuse, no matter how “minor,” is a big deal and something that should be handled with care, as quickly as possible.
