Please read my FAQ before sending me a question.

I'm a college student and a dancer, and I'm working to lose weight, gain muscle, become more fit... and help others do the same!

My Ask Box is always open to questions, suggestions, or if you just need to talk. If you'd like something to be answered privately, just let me know in the message. (Note: anonymous questions cannot be answered privately.)

I track the "backonpointe" tag!
“I cannot do a side plank! I fall over and the heel of my hand hurts really bad after like 10 seconds. I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong but I have no idea how to fix it.”

Falling over is part of the challenge. Try staggering your feet rather than stacking them, and see if moving your arm to a different position (hand on hip or arm extended to the ceiling or just waving around as you wobble) helps. As for the heel of your hand, try to lift your weight “up” as much as you can. Try pushing down through the area right at the base of your fingers.

I hope that helps!
