I'm a college student and a dancer, and I'm working to lose weight, gain muscle, become more fit... and help others do the same!

“I saved your spring break workout! Awesome I danced for a few years but ended up playing sports and I miss that gruesome strength training and conditioning. Some might say I'm crazy for that. But I'm getting married February 18th and I was wondering what sort of workouts would help to tone my arms and get rid of "back fat".”

Well, I don’t think you’re crazy! And at least people aren’t giving me too many side-eyes, compared to last semester (when I was taking four dance classes and yoga).

Fat loss can only come through a healthy diet and increased cardio. Cardio should be done for 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. This can be stuff like jogging, running, ellipticals, etc., but it really just needs to be something that gets your heart rate up. Dancing around the house, gardening, shoveling snow, jump roping, and stuff like that work just as well if you’re like me and hate running.

To tone your arms, push-ups and tricep dips will be the simplest. You can also modify both of them to make them easier or harder, as you need. If you have a dumbbell or two (or a gallon of milk), you can also do bicep curls, tricep extensions, cross body hammer curls, and stuff like that.

I hope you have a great night, and I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous at your wedding. Congrats in advance!
