I'm a college student and a dancer, and I'm working to lose weight, gain muscle, become more fit... and help others do the same!

My Ask Box is always open to questions, suggestions, or if you just need to talk. If you'd like something to be answered privately, just let me know in the message. (Note: anonymous questions cannot be answered privately.)

Note: I am not a physician of any sort. And never will be. I have, however, dealt with injuries. It’s a part of dancing.

How did you hurt it? What can you still do on it? Have you seen a doctor/physical therapist? It’s probably best to give it rest and do whatever rehab work a PT suggests, and then go on from there. Trust me, I’ve danced with wicked tendonitis before, and it just makes it work.

If you can put weight on it and move it a bit without causing it trouble, you might be able to use an elliptical carefully. You could also keep working your arms, with whatever push-ups you can do without straining your foot, with dumbbell chest presses, etc. You may also be able to do some bodyweight squats for your legs.

My advice? See a doctor or physical therapist. Depending on how you hurt it, the exercises you should/could do will be different.
